I never knew how long one week could seem....
Well, it all started one week ago. We had Shelby's 4th birthday party. It went really well and although the weather was horrible, 35 people still showed up to help us celebrate! Shelby had a wonderful time and got many nice things! Well then Sunday we ended up staying home all day because the weather was so yucky and then Monday it iced over and so I had to stay home from work. Chris still went in since he only had to go a few blocks to work. Then Tuesday was Shelby's actual birthday and although the weather was still terrible, I went to work. Came home that afternoon and got a call from a friend who told me they hadn't been able to come to Shelby's party because her husband had an accident and is now paralyzed from the chest down. It was such a shock because he is only in his mid-late 20's and is such a great, vibrant, guy who is always up and doing something. Even when he got hurt he was helping out his elderly neighbors cutting some tree limbs for them. Anyways, then Wednesday I stayed home again because of the weather and then Thursday and Friday had to work 2 full days because 1-missed 2 days of work and we really need the money right now and 2-our office was moving to a new location so I had to help out with that. Then finally to end the week, today me and the kids slept in while Chris went to work and then when he got home we all loaded up and went to see Jeremy (our friend who was hurt) @ Parkland hospital. He looked really good and was in good spirits considering the circumstances. I am really worried about my friend Jennifer (Jeremy's wife). She seemed okay, but you could tell she is really in a lot of stress. I couldn't imagine even being in her shoes. They have a 2 year old son right now and I tell you-I have been jealous several times because they seem to have the perfect life. They really have some hard times coming...
This all has made me realize how important life is this week....Sometimes I worry about all these things and they aren't even worth worrying about in the scheme of things. Enjoy life-enjoy what God has given and enjoy everyday since we aren't promised tomorrow! Live for God-something I haven't been doing to my fullest ability and am trying to change....
God Bless everyone till next time....

Am I in the right?
Hello all!
Let me tell you what happened the other day...maybe I am a little on the stubborn side...you tell me!
Okay, our cable bill used to be $80 a month because we had signed up for a special deal that I think was for the first year only. Apparently a year was up this past fall and the bill went up to $125/month. I have my bills set up with my bank online to pay automatically. I had the $80 set in there and then one month noticed the bill had gone up to $125 so I put that amount in to start paying. Well we start to get calls after Christmas from the cable company. I kept thinking it was a sales call so I didn't answer. Finally I answered the phone the other night. It's this horribly rude lady on there telling me my bill is late and they plan to cut the cable off. I told her she was mistaken because my bills are automatically paid every month from my bank on line. She argues so I pulled up my statement and she told me I didn't pay Decemeber so I told her yes I did, on the 12th. So she said that she saw that but that I didn't pay Novemeber. We did that game all the way back to I believe Septemeber and she said that's when it started-that the bill had gone up to $125 and I just paid the $80. I guess I could see where that happened so I then asked her about the cancellation-they were going to cancel the cable because I had overlooked the extra amount one month and even though I had paid on time every month they were going to do that....she told me I could do a post-dated check or give her my credit card info and she would bring my account up to date...um-no! I listen to Dave Ramsey and have heard TOO many stories of this happening and then the company goes bonkers with that info charging before they are supposed to or charging too much...I'm not about to start that. So I argued with the woman and told her I didn't feel comfortable with that and that I would pay the entire amount due on the 12th of this month (normal due date). She still argued with me so I asked to put her on hold so I could discuss with Chris and she hung up the phone. Well the next day the cable was still on so I figured maybe they were going to wait till I paid the payment on the 12th...Nope! Yesterday morning I tried to get on the internet and it didn't work so I went to turn on the tv..sure enough no cable. We plan to switch cable/phone/internet all to AT&T this month anyways, I was just going to wait until the 21st to do it. I know my husband was behind me in the arguement with Comcast...but would he still be with no cable? I told my mom about everything and she said I should call a supervisor and tell them what happened. So I called the local office here in town and got a very nice lady. I explained everything that happened and she told me that she would turn on the cable and put a note in the computer that I would pay on the 12th. Funny enough-another thing she told me is that they don't do post-dated checks...WHICH IS WHAT THE CRAZY RUDE LADY WAS TRYING TO GET FROM ME!!! Was I crazy not to give that to her. Okay we owe the money but I WILL NOT give my personal stuff like that to someone I don't know...over the phone...NOPE!
Well still planning Shelby's party this week so wish us luck!! A Lot of people have RSVP-ed so it looks like it will be a BIG PARTY!!!

Welcome to Our New Blog Site
Hello. I know I made my last blog site private because I decided to start writing some personal stuff that I wasn't comfortable sharing with the entire world :). I do miss writing for friends to see our daily lives though so I'm starting this new blog...
Anyways, this weekend is the first complete weekend Chris has been off in forever!! He started his new position as "MIT" (Manager in Training) this week so he now works the weekdays and should have most weekends off...Yeah for us!! It was so nice~we spent all Saturday just laying around the house doing NOTHING!!! I actually got to take a 3 hour nap! Although there was an interruption in it since I'm still the primary feeding source for my son :). But it was still SOOOO good! Then we headed to a car dealership in town to check on buying a van...I'm not quite sure I want to because we have never had 2 car payments but it would be nice to have a vehicle big enough that we can have people ride with us places. We'll see I guess. Then today we got up and went to church and went to eat with my parents and then I have actually been able to put a dent in the tornado we live in. We put the Christmas stuff back in the attic and then I super cleaned the bathroom and dining and living room and I will be working on the rest this evening. Chris is happy because for Christmas he got a collectors picture of the National Championship and so I hung it in the living room (he has been fighting me to do that since Christmas).
Now onto other news....Shelby can not wait until her birthday...SHE IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!! As I type right now she is rambling on about it... I can not believe I have a 4 year old. That's just not right. I see Austin now and see how he reminds me of things Shelby did when she was his size...and then look up and it seems like we blinked and she went from baby to a young girl...she isn't even a toddler anymore...she is a little person. She is so smart and so sweet (most of the time) and it's just so unreal! The party is next Saturday and it's a first~ Shelby has never had a "birthday party". The first two years we just had family and a friend or two over at our house to celebrate and then last year me and Chris just decided to take her to the zoo and to eat at McD's and then dinner with the grandparents. This is the first time she is inviting people and everything... And so cute-we took the invitations to church this morning and I would tell her to give them to one of her friends and their parents and she would walk up...open the card..."read" it to them...and walk off with the card!! So anyways, this next week will be stressful putting all the details together and making sure everything is done!
Austin is growing...smiling...laughing...all I can say is "Gerber Baby". He is such a chunk!! At Christmas he was between 18-20lbs and everyone thinks he is even bigger now. Funny thing is he doesn't look "fat" he is just solid. And he has been smiling since early December and then around Christmas he started to really laugh and now he is just such a happy baby all the time! He is so content and really... I know this sounds fake but he really NEVER cries unless he is hungry! I promise!! I'm the luckiest mama and I think God knew that I couldn't take another wild child so he gave me Austin! He's my little man!
It's funny-I've been looking at my life lately and I have found a lot of my old high school buddies on myspace.com and I sometimes wonder "what-if" about my life but then I realize how blessed I am....we were meant to get married young and have these 2 awesome kids and maybe more one day! We were meant to be here! I thank God for my life!
We have also had a lot of death and sickness around us lately. A really nice guy who was only 42 died on New Years day from cancer and he only found out about a few months back...ended up in the hospital and never left...You never know what will happen and you always need to have your life ready...don't worry about the petty things and just enjoy what you have!! I heard that someone asked Jeff what he wanted for Christmas and he responded "I don't need anything..I have friends"....how true!
God Bless you all and I pray that you have a wonderful new year!!!!
